Staff of established outlets are usually straightforward. Freelancers, fixers, and small production companies are not, because the officer needs to see a media function and an employer relationship in one sentence. Crews who apply as tourists create a refusal now and a misrepresentation problem later.
The question that sinks sponsor staff is “who is paying you, and from where?” We draw the B-1 line before anyone applies, move the people who need L-1, H-1B, or O-1 status into the right category, and brief the rest so they answer cleanly.
Entourage refusals cluster because groups are large, ties are uneven, and the credential creates false confidence. We work with federations, committees, and agencies to classify support staff correctly (P-1S, B-1, O-2), screen for risk before appointments are booked, and prepare the group as a group.

How consular officers actually decide cases
