In a remarkable decision, Chief Justice Roberts reinstated the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, allowing individuals who have DACA to renew their work permits for two more years, and allowing new applicants to submit their applications. Both sets of individuals will also be able to submit requests for travel documents (Advance Parole), for emergency travel outside the United States. Read more about the decision, and the impact below, as well as President Trump’s tweet that that he is still going to end a program that 71% of Americans want continued.
There will also shortly be a presidential announcement illegal stopping LEGAL immigration to the United States (with some exceptions). Stay tuned for that announcement, and the lawsuit that will quickly follow.

Supreme Court Rules DHS Violated APA, DACA Stands (At Least for Now) – The Court noted in its decision that DHS may rescind DACA and that the dispute instead was primarily about the procedure the agency followed in doing so. This also means that newly eligible people may apply, and all DACA recipients can seek advance parole for emergency travel purposes
